Food Safety Training

1 min read

To avoid serving any contaminated food to customers, it is important for all employees to be aware of how to do so:

● When arriving at work, always wash your hands as soon as you enter the restaurant.

● Before handling any food make sure to always wear gloves. Gloves are necessary when handling any food because we cannot risk contamination of any kind. Make sure to also change gloves if needed.

An example would be if someone is slicing beef and has blood on their gloves; it would be their responsibility to change their gloves before handling any other food.

● When storing food, always look for the logos on the fridge. Place the beef where the beef goes, the fillings where the fillings go, and so on. If unsure of where to store food, ask the manager on duty for assistance.

● If working the oven, make sure that the food is fully cooked before serving. This means making sure that there are cooked egg yolks, bread, bacon, etc.

● Look for expiration dates in the products or if none, look for manufactured dates. We MUST never use expired products.

● Always remember that we cannot touch the food that is already cooked for the customer.

● Do not cut butter or other prep foods with bare hands. It should be handled only with gloves on.
